PAUL ROBERTS: ‘BLACK IN TOWN’ featuring John Ellis (Plus support) As a special thank you to the all the fans for 16 years of support, former Stranglers front man PAUL ROBERTS will be performing some of his favourite tracks from his time with the band at the famous 100 club in London on Thursday 8th March 2007. (Doors: 7.30pm). The 100 Club has been host to some of popular music’s finest artists from including the Rolling Stones, The Sex Pistols, Oasis, Joe Strummer, The Who, The Clash, and Paul Weller to name but a few. In the same vain as Paul’s gig recent appearances at the legendary club have included; Rat Scabies & Brian James (playing music by The Damned), Eater gave their first live show in over 20 years, and rare solo shows by Buzzcock’s guitar legend Steve Diggle and Stiff Little Fingers front-man Jake Burns. Billed as ‘a celebration of 16 years with The Stranglers’ this promises to be a nostalgic, emotional and highly entertaining night. Fans will get to hear songs not performed for many a year, the occasional track from Paul’s solo outings, plus one or two brand new tunes to boot! Joining Paul on stage will be another former Strangler, in the shape of JOHN ELLIS on guitar, as well as Brad Waissman (a regular in Paul’s band Soulsec) on Bass. Completing the line up will be Mickey Sparrow on Drums and Tom Phelan on keyboard duties..... Plus if you’re lucky - the odd special guest or two!!!
