Andy has played guitar since the age of 8
years with his first guitar (his dads Fender
Stratocaster) remaining the weapon of choice.
Since school Andy has played in numerous
bands including Worcestershire based 'Jigsaw',
bass for biker rock band 'No Respect' and
sessioned for Oxfordshires 'Mr J'.
In 2003 Andy gained a distinction grade at
the 'Brighton Institute of Modern Music' (BIMM)
where he then became a teacher working with
the likes of Carleen Anderson (Brand New
Heavies), Paul Roberts (The Stranglers),
Alex Dickson (Robbie Williams), Rob Harris (Jamiroquai)
and Mark Richardson (Skunk Anansie / Feeder).
He has sessioned for various BIMM artists on
their CD release 'How to mend a broken pier',
supplied some widdles for TV advertising as
well as performed solo at the Bath
International Guitar Festival.
Andy has written articles for Total Guitar
magazine and has tuition books and CD's
published with Sanctuary - 'Xtreme Electric
Guitar' and 'Xtreme Acoustic Guitar'. He
enjoys teaching group guitar and live
performance workshops at BIMM whilst
offering private lessons and advice in all
aspects of music and computing.
In 2004 he has been working with Brighton
based musicians 'Paul Roberts' (of 'Faith
band' / 'The Stranglers'), 'Abbo' and 'Amy
Tinsley' as well as appearing in various
function bands and U2 tribute band
'Elevation'.
